Selectboard adopts purchasing policy, awards two roadwork contracts to Ember's Garden LLC

The Isle La Motte Selectboard voted on June 4 to adopt a final purchasing policy and to award two local roadwork contracts to Ember's Garden LLC. Peter Brzozowy, chair, made the motion to accept the purchasing policy; Mary Catherine Graziano seconded it and the board approved it unanimously.
At the same meeting the board reviewed bids for two road projects. The Turner–Dale project was awarded to Ember's Garden LLC for $5,550.00 after a question-and-answer period; the company will provide a detailed budget and the state-required spreadsheet. The Selectboard also accepted Ember's Garden LLC's bid of $4,200.00 for the New West Shore Road work. Board members noted that the town may incur additional costs for asphalt repairs and that road closures will be publicized to residents and the USPS prior to work.
Pat Treckman and Peter Brzozowy participated in the motions to award the contracts during the agenda item. Ember's Garden LLC was asked to deliver an itemized budget and conform to state documentation requirements before work begins. The board recorded that both awards passed “all in favor,” with formal budgets to follow.
The board returned other procurement and budget questions to staff to ensure line-item reporting and to verify any town expenditures for packing, filling holes, and asphalt repairs. Closure notices and the contractor's schedule will be shared with residents once finalized.
