Nemaha County adopts One & Six Year Road and Street Plan, approves bridge inspections and state reimbursement

The Nemaha County Board of Commissioners adopted the county’s One & Six Year Road and Street Plan for 2025–2030 and approved related bridge work at its Feb. 12 meeting.
Chairman Michael Weiss moved and Commissioner Mike Hall seconded adoption of Resolution #2025-03 (One & Six Year Road and Street Plan). The board opened a public hearing on the plan and closed it at 9:50 a.m.; no members of the public attended. The resolution to adopt the plan carried by roll call (Weiss aye; Hall aye). The board also reviewed two quotes for 2025 fracture-critical and regular bridge inspections—Midwest Engineering Inc. for $35,475.00 and Mainelli Wagner & Associates Inc. for $39,271.00—and accepted Midwest Engineering’s $35,475.00 proposal, directing the work to conform with the new SNBI standards.
Separately, the board adopted Resolution #2025-04 to accept state reimbursement of $181,421.00 for the C64(322) box culvert project. All actions were recorded as approved by roll call (Hall aye; Weiss aye).
