Nemaha County board reappoints emergency, floodplain and veterans officers; approves support letter

The Nemaha County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 12 reappointed four county officers for 2025 and approved related administrative items.
Chairman Michael Weiss moved to reappoint Renee Critser as Emergency Management Director, Jeff Rowell as Flood Plain Administrator and Deputy Emergency Management Director, Jim Reed as Veterans Service Officer, and Gene Mace as Assistant Veterans Service Officer. Commissioner Mike Hall seconded each motion and the board carried all reappointments by roll call vote (Hall, aye; Weiss, aye; Commissioner Bryan Mellage was absent). The board also approved the semi-annual report of vacation, comp time and sick leave owed to county employees as of Feb. 1, 2025.
In other business tied to county services, the board voted to sign a letter of support to Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging Services for FY 2025–2026. The motions were recorded in the minutes as passed by voice/roll call with the two present commissioners voting in the affirmative.
