The Nemaha County Board of Commissioners elected Michael Weiss as chairman for 2025 after a nomination from Commissioner Mike Hall, seconded by Commissioner Bryan Mellage; Weiss abstained from voting on his own election and the motion carried by roll call. The board then elected Commissioner Mike Hall as vice-chair after a nomination from Commissioner Bryan Mellage and a second from Commissioner Weiss.
County Clerk Diane Johnson opened the meeting at 8:00 a.m., led the Pledge of Allegiance and recorded the posting of the open meetings notice. The board approved the Jan. 2, 2025 minutes and authorized payment of accounts payable claims by roll call vote.
