The board authorized a contract with Lagat Architects to provide schematic design, construction documentation, bidding and construction services for site and pavilion improvements related to the Car 3‑21 historic rail car project.
Manager Rivas said staff seeks a board resolution to engage Lagat so the village can advance schematic design and pursue grants; Community & Economic Development Director Brandon Nolan said the scope intentionally focused on site and pavilion work so grant requests can be scaled up or down depending on available funding. Trustee Kumar suggested considering interior work for historical-museum grants; Nolan confirmed the scope can be ramped based on grant outcomes. The motion to approve the ordinance authorizing the agreement passed by roll call.
The ordinance covers site planning and pavilion design only; interior restoration was noted as a potential separate or future phase pending grants and funding.
