Cashmere board approves several policy updates, including threat assessment and student privacy

The board approved Board Policy 1111 (Oath of Office), 3225 (School-Based Threat Assessment), and Policy & Procedure 3230 (Student Privacy and Searches) at their Dec. 15 meeting; Policy 6220 "Bid Requirements" received a first reading and will return in January.
Superintendent Johnson presented multiple policy items to the board. Board Policy 1111 "Oath of Office" was approved on its second reading following presentation by the superintendent. The board also approved Board Policy 3225 "School-Based Threat Assessment" on its second reading and Board Policy & Procedure 3230 "Student Privacy and Searches" on its second reading.
Business Manager Bo Charlton presented Board Policy 6220 "Bid Requirements" for a first reading and highlighted changes to competitive bidding thresholds; Charlton said the revised policy will return for a second reading at the January board meeting. The policies approved on Dec. 15 were adopted as presented; motions and movers are recorded in the minutes.
