Board members press superintendent on staff supported by expired grants

Ms. Bohannon asked, "how we (the board members and district) can support the staff while taking resources and staff away?"
Ms. Vickie Jones responded that decisions should be made with students as the priority, stating that "if needed, positions and salaries should be cut." Superintendent Clay Vinyard replied that if the district properly utilizes the budget and increases enrollment through marketing, he could apply an allocation formula to set an appropriate budget going forward. The minutes do not include figures for how many employees are funded by expired grants or timelines for any personnel actions.
