Okmulgee Board approves multiple hires and emergency certifications

The Okmulgee Board of Education approved a slate of employment actions on Aug. 13. The board voted to hire Kayla Gryder as FY25 temporary certified staff and approved five temporary support staff hires: Milton Hammon, Brandi Holmes, Tashanna Drone, Alyssa Becker and Kenneth Davis (pending emergency certification). The motions were moved and seconded and carried during the Action Agenda.
The board also approved emergency certification applications for Erin Heck (4th grade) and Kenneth Davis (U.S. History) and accepted resignations from Tyler Patteson and Kaci Sitton. Several votes occurred while board member Heather Kimbley was temporarily absent; recorded ayes on those motions list Mr. Parker, Mr. James, Ms. Jones and Ms. Bohannon.
