Oklahoma Union board approves minutes, payroll and multiple fund encumbrances

The Oklahoma Union Public School Board on Jan. 8 approved its Dec. 11, 2024 meeting minutes and a set of payroll and fund encumbrances during a meeting at the high school conference room. Boardmember Hannah Nolte moved to approve the minutes and KY Cole seconded; the record shows the motion carried 5-0.
The board also approved payroll/purchase orders totaling $5,746.13 and several encumbrances: General Fund encumbrances #808-966 for $468,693.23, Building Fund encumbrances #45-51 for $5,176.61, Bond Fund #31 encumbrance #9 for $6,975.00 and Bond Fund #32 encumbrance #6 for $1,000.00. The motion to approve these financial items was made by Nolte and seconded by Cole and recorded as passing 5-0.
Board President Mark Huntington and Superintendent Brenda Taylor were present for the votes. Taylor later reported the district’s year-to-date expenditures have increased by $69,650.34, while revenue is about $800,000 lower than at the same point last year, which she attributed in part to later tax receipts.
