Board approves multiple student and staff overnight trips, including potential out-of-state robotics travel

The board approved several overnight travel requests as part of the Consent Agenda. Approved trips included 16 W.F. West FFA students and two chaperones to District 3 Leadership Camp Nov. 23–24, 2024; 22 W.F. West wrestling students and four chaperones to events on Dec. 20–21, 2024 (Bremerton) and Jan. 17–18, 2025 (Prosser); and up to 10 W.F. West Robotics students and two chaperones to competitions Feb. 27–Mar. 1, 2025 (Salem, OR) and, if they qualify, Apr. 15–20, 2025 (Houston, TX). Funding sources cited included the FFA, Booster Club, STEM Booster and Chehalis Foundation.
The board also approved out-of-state travel for two staff members, Trisha Smith and Lynn Panther, to attend a Mathematical Leaders meeting Dec. 15–16, 2024 in Palo Alto, CA, funded by a Math Grant. The robotics out-of-state trip to Houston was explicitly noted as contingent on qualification.
