Clerk chairs meeting; township approves budget amendment, reappointment and routine payments

Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley called the Eagle Township Board to order at 6:10 p.m. on July 21 and, following a motion she made and Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes supported, chaired the meeting. The board approved the consent agenda and then the amended meeting agenda; both motions carried.
The board approved the accounts payable list after a motion by Clerk Briggs-Dudley supported by Trustee Rob Currie. Later in the meeting the board adopted a FY 2026–27 budget amendment that decreased Treasurer Supplies (101-253-752.000) by $200 and Community Improvements (101-727-880.000) by $1,000 while increasing Treasurer Legal Fees (101-253-806.000) by $1,200 to cover collection services for delinquent tax bills; the minutes note there was no change to the projected ending fund balance. The board also approved the reappointment of Charles Byam Jr. to the Niles Cemetery Board for a three-year term ending July 31, 2029. The board adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
