Mayor Robert Hasty moved to pass ordinances authorizing certificates of appropriateness for historic‑district properties: 804 Chapel Street (Forkan Family LLC) to construct a detached garage, and façade renovations for 626–630 Court Street and 615–617 LaSalle Street (Wesbecker Properties LLC). All three ordinances were passed and approved with unanimous ayes.
On zoning, Mayor Hasty presented the Zoning Board of Appeals report from June 22, 2026, regarding variance requests from Amanda Brockman for property at 124 E. VanBuren Street. The council concurred with the ZBA recommendation: a side yard setback variance was granted with the condition that the setback not be less than 1 foot from the west property line including eaves and gutters to construct an addition to an existing detached accessory structure; requests for a rear yard variance and to allow maximum area to exceed 900 square feet were denied. The follow-up ordinance was passed unanimously. The council adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
