Pawnee principals highlight student achievements, holiday events and semester testing schedule

Elementary Principal Kellie Ehler thanked staff for the Native American Heritage Showcase held on Nov. 13 and listed upcoming events: the Kindergarten and First Grade Music Program on Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m.; the 4th and 5th grade academic meet at Hominy on Dec. 12; Honor Choir singing the national anthem at the high school basketball game on Dec. 17; and a fourth-grade cooking school at Pawnee County OSU Extension on Dec. 17. Ehler also noted early release and holiday dismissal dates through Dec. 20 and the Christmas break from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3.
MS/HS Principal Tammy Hixon reported middle school students placed first in a district academic competition in Cleveland and that the varsity football team advanced to the semifinals in Alva before losing to the Hooker Bulldogs. Hixon outlined winter sports transitions, specific basketball home games (Dec. 13 and Dec. 14 rescheduled) and wrestling matches starting Dec. 19. She described semester testing and exemption logistics: testing Dec. 18–20 with buses running at 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 19–20 and no bus run for students released at 1:50 p.m. on Dec. 18.
Superintendent Womack added that a fan from Hooker called to praise Pawnee athletes, calling them a "class act." Board members John Henry and Carol Rapp later congratulated the football team and commended Coach Jones.
