Park ADA upgrades ready; road crew wins roughly $48,000 sign grant; Shanling structure closed for repairs

Assistant Chief Griffith told the board the community park’s ADA features are installed and functioning and thanked the road department for the work. Trustees confirmed formation of a park advisory board with Cliff Miles as chair and Sandy Tyler as assistant; the board will meet again in August and meeting notices will be posted on the township website.
Griffith said the road department was awarded a sign grant of roughly $48,000 to support signage projects. He also reported the Shanling structure (identified during the meeting as a $2.8 million construction project) is now closed through at least early December while engineers assess concrete degradation found beneath removed decking. "Once they took the decking off, they found significant concrete degradation underneath it," Griffith said, adding that engineers are determining the best repair approach. The work will require additional effort and no reopening date was promised.
