The Morgan Township Board of Trustees voted Monday to adopt Resolution No. 068-2026, authorizing a permanent transfer of $120,000 from the general fund to the fire levy special revenue fund to support payroll and equipment for township fire and emergency medical services.
The chair read the resolution into the record, stating, “the board hereby authorizes and directs the township fiscal officer to execute a permanent transfer of funds in the amount of $120,000 from the general fund … to the fire levy fund.” The resolution cites Ohio Revised Code §5705.14 to permit the transfer by a simple majority. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the measure; the chair said the transfer takes effect upon passage and is recorded as adopted July 27.
Board members said the transfer is intended to provide immediate support for payroll and other fire/EMS needs. The resolution text states the transfer is supported by an encumbered balance within the general fund and is intended not to impair the township’s ability to meet current general obligations. The board completed signing after the vote and will file the resolution with township records.
