Commission votes to return Hardy Avenue parcel to land bank for public review

The commission voted to return a parcel on Hardy Avenue to the land bank so it can be processed through the normal public hearings and bidding procedures. Commissioner Collins introduced the motion "to see if that might could happen" and the motion was seconded; a roll-call vote followed and every present commissioner voted in favor.
Clerk called each roll and commissioners recorded "yes" for the motion. The move will route the parcel back through the planning/zoning process so residents can appear before the planning commission and the public for comment and for the parcel to be eligible for bidding and return to the tax rolls, as described by a commissioner who proposed the motion.
The commission did not attach additional conditions in open session. Staff and the planning department were encouraged to follow the land bank's established processes and notify interested residents of upcoming hearings.
