City of Santa Fe briefs county on general‑plan update; housing and equity top priorities

Lamboy said the plan's horizon is 2050 and highlighted engagement results: about 9,500 website visitors, 788 completed surveys and roughly 8,000 discrete input items collected, plus more than 600 participants through community partner micro‑grants. "We have a really active and engaged community," Lamboy told the board. She described priorities that aligned closely with county concerns: housing and affordability, community facilities and environmental stewardship. Lamboy also described CitySmart, a GIS engine the city is developing to track the residential pipeline, building permits, historic properties and affordability metrics.
Commissioners used the presentation to ask operational questions about outreach techniques, water constraints and how the plan's land‑use and non‑land‑use data layers (schools, senior centers, transit access) could inform county planning. Lamboy emphasized the city's interest in joint technical work and offered the Santa Fe Forward materials as a model for the county's own planning efforts.
