Manager announces PennDOT grant support, no towing-bid action and several upcoming community events

Borough Manager Cindy Wells provided a series of community and administrative updates. She said a letter of support is being sent from the borough for the PennDOT Charging & Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program application along the U.S. Route 6 corridor. Wells also reported council chose not to advertise for towing bids.
Wells announced local events and meetings including an Erie County Planning EMS meeting at Fort LeBoeuf (Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.), the Devereaux Day kickoff on Sept. 13, 2024 (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) to promote park and trail improvements and the Erie-to-Pittsburgh trail head, free Community Emergency Response Team training Sept. 27–29, 2024, and the UPMC Hamot/Erie County Firefighters Association Safety Awards Dinner on Sept. 27 at 6:00 p.m. Wells invited council participation for relevant events and noted meetings on zoning and parking ordinance amendments would be advertised as required.
