Council OKs $39,060.20 in ARPA funds for Municipal Lot #1 stormwater repairs

Council members voted Oct. 7 to allocate $39,060.20 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to cover stormwater costs and repairs to close a catch basin in Hogan’s Alley and related work in Municipal Lot #1. Borough Manager Cindy Wells reported the borough’s ARPA total is $194,413 and that $160,000 had previously been designated toward the Willow Street Bridge, of which $25,000 has already been spent.
"MOTION TO APPROVE SPENDING $39,060.20 OF ARPA FUNDS FOR STORMWATER REPAIRS IN MUNICIPAL LOT #1 AND HOGAN’S ALLEY," the motion read; it was moved by Councilor Joyce and seconded by Councilor Steadman and carried as recorded. Council did not record any additional conditions on the expenditure during the meeting.
Councilors present voted to cover the repair costs from the borough’s ARPA balance; staff will proceed with necessary contracting and invoice processing under municipal procurement rules.
