Council approves multiple infrastructure pay requests, bridge and water-tower updates

The council approved a pay request to Reedy Construction for North Dakota Street roadway improvements totaling $2,144,005.89 plus a $109,005.48 change order; staff said the contract amount is approximately $2.6M with adjustments to about $2.76M.
City engineer Leaf presented the water-tower and transmission-line pay requests (Dami Construction: $574,513.09; Landmark Structures: $223,007.72) and described progress on the tower bowl coatings and the transmission-line work. Leaf said the project's schedule remains dependent on BNSF railroad work to raise track grade and install driving surfaces at crossings; until the railroad finishes, asphalt tie-ins and final paving cannot be completed and an Aug. 1 opening date is uncertain.
Council also approved a services proposal to advance design/contracting for the 2nd Street bridge preservation project and accepted the competitively bid winter de-icing salt contract for 2026—or 2027. Council recorded roll-call votes approving the payments and thanked staff for project progress.
