Council outlines sinkhole repairs and smoke testing in Municipal Lot #1

At the Sept. 16 meeting Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips described a multi-step plan to address sinkholes in Municipal Lot #1: Mansfield will fill the sinkhole, replace approximately 10 feet of pipe and install a new catch basin before the borough conducts smoke-and-dye testing of the storm system.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells and Phillips said the borough is awaiting quotes from JT Patching and Paving and Cross Paving to repave the affected area. Nearby business owners and the Union City Volunteer Fire Department will be notified before smoke testing takes place.
