John Bildsoe told council the local fire department missed grant opportunities and that volunteer applications and insurance/worker‑comp paperwork for two available trucks have not been processed.
"We also have volunteer applications that have not been processed," Bildsoe said, and he added that the department had identified two trucks but city staff had not responded to requests for insurance and worker compensation details. Bildsoe also noted a recent prescribed burn on the flats and asked whether the city had provided public notice. Council did not take immediate action on these items during the meeting but the matters were placed on record for staff follow‑up.
