Council approves purchase of year-round pool cover using leftover grant funds

On March 10 the Parma City Council approved a motion to purchase an all-season pool cover using leftover funds from the Pool Grant. Council member Mike Richard moved to approve the purchase and Council member Ransey Portenier seconded; the motion passed by roll call.
Public Works Supervisor Dustin Riggs said the cover can be used year-round and would mean “during the winter the pool will not need to be drained yearly,” reducing maintenance work. Dustin will investigate warranty terms before finalizing procurement. The council recorded no opposition to the expenditure and assigned Public Works to manage installation and warranty follow-up.
