Authority ratifies Dewberry Architects contract to complete licensure and CMS revisions

Trustees ratified an agreement with Dewberry Architects, Inc. to provide engineering services for the revisions required to secure licensure and CMS approval for the existing Bristow Hospital. The motion was made by Trustee Randy Witty, seconded by Brian Peters, and passed by roll call with all present trustees recorded as voting Aye.
Authority attorney Beth Anne Childs explained the licensure steps and affirmed that the hospital’s licenses and Medicare/Medicaid numbers are tied to the facility and would remain with the hospital if Carrus were to leave. Childs also outlined that the state has been favoring Rural Hospital status in some cases, which is an alternative the operator could pursue if CAH is not granted.
