At its July 23 meeting the Murfreesboro City Council recorded a series of unanimouse roll-call approvals on routine and project-related items.
Key actions approved by the five members present included adoption of Ordinance 26027 (rules of the road), acceptance of a HEART grant for an accessible swing ($94,813), approval of MOUs to apply for the statewide SRO grant (potential $1,050,000 for 14 schools), authorization of a $37,900 sewer easement offer for the Dunaway parcel, approval of the TDOT construction agreement for Cherry Lane Phase 3 (estimated $52.7 million construction funding), approval of Amendment Nos. 4 and 5 to Cherry Lane contracts, purchase approvals for a $217,167 bucket truck and $154,811 in Caterpillar equipment, and a negotiated purchase of 524 Southeast Broad Street for $1.2 million.
