SLR proposes geotechnical assessment for West River Road; Selectboard to review RFPs July 21

Representatives from SLR, research engineer Brian Cote and geotechnical engineer Osman Pekin, described their approach to West River Road: conduct borings and geotechnical assessments to build an understanding of slope stability, drainage and culvert conditions, then present a matrix of three to four alternatives with pros, cons and cost estimates. They said the assessment would allow the town to compare permit requirements, expediency and cost and to identify potential grant funding for phases of the work.
SLR estimated borings and initial geotechnical work could be scheduled in about 6–7 weeks. The Selectboard thanked SLR for the presentation and agreed to place the three RFP proposals on the July 21 agenda for fuller review and selection.
