VTrans presents York Hill truss bridge conceptual plans, schedules borings and traffic controls

JB McCarthy, VTrans project manager, reviewed the conceptual truss bridge design for York Hill and outlined the agency's project development phases: project definition/funding, conceptual design, and construction contract award. He said the conceptual plans identify some work outside the town right‑of‑way that will require landowner consent, and that construction would include traffic control with occasional stops; construction is estimated at three months and southside borings are expected to be drilled late summer or early fall and take about three days.
The board asked about improved visibility at the bridge and about renderings for community review; McCarthy said renderings may be added to preliminary plans if feasible. He also asked whether the town highway crew could assist by pulling and replacing guardrail for borings; VTrans will coordinate traffic control during the borings. The Selectboard requested the slides be posted to the Town of Lincoln website under Municipal Services/Highway Dept/York Hill Bridge.
