Draft 7 proposes quarry permit review, STR criteria, density bonuses and conservation boundary change

During the commission’s review, Zoning Administrator William Goodwin described several substantive policy additions in Draft 7. New quarries would have permits reviewed after five years of operation; short-term rentals must meet the criteria for a dwelling; planned unit developments intended for affordable housing could be eligible for density bonuses; and the Conservation district boundary was increased to 2,000 feet.
These changes were presented as part of a package of edits to be incorporated into the amended draft and accompanying report. Commissioners accepted the staff presentation and recorded the items for inclusion when the revised draft is transmitted to the Selectboard for its anticipated July hearing.
