As part of its March 23 review the Planning Commission amended Section 3202 to include duplexes in the accessory dwelling (ADU) provisions, to raise the ADU maximum from 900 to 1,000 square feet, and to state that attached duplexes are allowed in single‑unit zones provided they meet septic and dimensional requirements.
The changes aim to increase housing options while keeping technical limits tied to on‑site septic capacity and other dimensional standards; commissioners noted DRB review may still be required depending on project specifics. The edits will be included in the April 13 public hearing materials.
