County reports projects largely on schedule, credits early bidding for savings

Staff said improved project tracking and strong staff coordination, complemented by consultant support for complex right‑of‑way and wetland issues, have supported timely delivery.
Backowski and Meyer noted that early bidding practices produced significant cost savings and that staff secured additional funding for some federal and local projects. Commissioners discussed long‑term planning matters, including traffic demand projections and roundabout design options, and staff cited coordination with local jurisdictions on projects such as the Highway 29 extension, the County Road 3 and 80 roundabout, and the Gilman project.
