Deputies report recurring midday activity at Leicester cemetery and ATV speed concerns

Deputy Mark described repeated midday activity at the town cemetery and said he observed two pickups with doors open in the woods and other vehicles that left when deputies approached. "There was 2 pickups and they had their doors open," he said while recounting recent patrols. Deputies said the people involved are often not local to Leicester, citing groups that come from neighboring towns.
The board discussed whether license-plate information and targeted sit locations would help; deputies said staffing constraints and safety concerns make long pursuits or extended weekend patrols difficult. "We have staffing issues just like everyone else. We're stretched to the limits," Mark said. Board members asked residents to report license plates and noted that targeted enforcement and community reporting sometimes help more than immediate citation.
