Selectboard plans group inspection of Simpson property after state guidance flags steep slopes

Selectboard member (S3) said a constituent, Joan Drew, reported the camper at the Simpson property had been removed but that a large tarp remained and the parcel includes slopes the state classifies as high-risk. "So I received a call from Joan Drew, that the Simpson property that the camper has gone. However, there's a large tarp and zacking or something and would like to know what we're gonna do about it," S3 said.
S3 said the state-sent materials mark areas with slopes greater than 25 percent in red and that one clicked area measured about 36 percent. Board members agreed the site should be viewed in person: "We still thought it would be a good idea for us to go up and look," the chair (S1) said. The Selectboard decided to coordinate a group visit and wait for Diane to join before setting a date to confirm whether the slope triggers erosion-control or permitting requirements.
