Burke County adopts revisions to public health policies, including 12 new policies

At the July 27 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners voted 4–0 to approve a set of policy updates from Burke County Public Health. Ashley Garrett told the board that roughly 100 policies were reviewed: 67 were revised, 12 were new, and 32 were reviewed with no recommended changes.
Garrett said many revisions were administrative—updating the department name to Burke County Public Health, correcting terminology, revising staff assignments, and aligning with state and federal regulatory changes. "We've revised 67. We have 12 new policies, and 32 policies were reviewed with no changes or recommendations," she said. Commissioner Stroud moved to approve the policies as presented, and the motion passed unanimously.
