At the July 27 meeting, Burke County Public Health presented its fiscal year 2025–26 annual report to the Board of Commissioners. Ashley Garrett summarized key service metrics and said the department provided 1,400 immunizations, performed 11,000 laboratory tests, helped 2,300 WIC‑eligible participants, and completed 659 food and lodging inspections.
Garrett noted that the inspections milestone represented the first year in more than a decade to meet 100% of inspection requirements. Commissioners asked no substantive follow‑up questions and Commissioner Burns moved to accept the report as presented; the board approved the motion by a 4–0 vote.
