Mayor Bruce Metzger suggested installing flag poles at the green space to display military flags, said flags could come from the American Legion and suggested bed tax funds to pay for the poles with a target completion by July 4. He asked staff and a contractor contact (Jim Dreher) for installation estimates to be discussed at the work session.
Metzger also announced the village's first farmers market at the green space on Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with 18 vendors, no vendor fee, 10-by-10 vendor spaces, planned handicap parking behind the green space and portable toilet and trash support. He noted Village Garden and Cross Café would participate with barbequing and service for customers.
