The Rivergrove City Council adopted a motion restricting structures near the Stark boat ramp and setting firm removal deadlines. The motion specifies that the property at 5600 SW Dogwood Drive must remove all structures from City-owned property before Feb. 28, 2025, provide the City Manager with monthly progress reports, and obtain all permits required to remove and replace the structures. The motion also reiterated the requirement to remove stormwater discharge pipes on or before Nov. 8, 2024.
The motion was made by Council President Barhyte and seconded by Council President Tuttle. The motion passed 3-2, with Councilors McLean and Shafer voting no. Council discussion earlier had included a six-month extension request from the owner to comply with floodplain fence restrictions; the council concluded the owner needed to provide more information to justify any delay and imposed the stated deadlines instead.
