Council votes to remove gate and obstructions at Stark Boat Ramp

"Remove obstructions to river access including exiting gate, gate posts and side fencing. Recycle the materials; Remove reference to the gate in the boat ramp design," Councilor Shafer proposed during the meeting. Landon Gentry, speaking during public comment, said the notices met the technical requirement but not "the spirit of the law," a point the council discussed before voting.
The motion passed 4-0-1, with Councilor Shafer recorded as abstaining. Council said removals will not proceed until required public notifications are completed and any related procedural steps are followed.
