Board accepts resignations, approves hires and eliminates two positions
Summary
After executive session, the board approved resignations (Amy Linton, Scott Kimball, Tracy Watkins, Jennifer Whaley), several hires and transfers, and eliminated the reading specialist and board clerk positions.
Following executive session the Osage City School Board approved a slate of personnel actions read into the record by the Chair (voice 1).
The board accepted resignations from Amy Linton (high school dance sponsor), Scott Kimball (high school principal), Tracy Watkins (middle school assistant volleyball coach) and Jennifer Whaley (3rd grade teacher). The board approved hires and assignments including Leslie Harmon as assistant middle school track coach, Hunter Krause as a 4th grade teacher and Morgan Collins as a 3rd grade teacher, and approved transferring Tabitha Renfro to the 6th grade ELA position. The board also voted to eliminate the reading specialist position and to eliminate the board clerk position that had been held by Patty Brenner.
The Chair moved approval of the recommendations and the motion carried by voice vote. The board indicated the actions followed executive-session discussion under the non-elected personnel exemption of KOMA; the superintendent and administration will complete necessary personnel paperwork and transition steps.
