Councilor Barb Gregory told the council that the Planning Commission is actively working on several code updates and state-mandated items.
Gregory said the commission is reviewing parking requirements and has mailed a letter asking for 10% exemptions from specific state parking mandates. She said the commission is also tasked with drafting sign‑ordinance language and is in early stages of understanding FEMA requirements that may affect local code. Gregory reported the commission now has a full membership with two new alternate members who have recently attended meetings.
The update indicates staff and commissioners are continuing code work ahead of any formal ordinance proposals to the council.
