Trustees find lot markers extend beyond deed but encroachment is within same family; maps copied to preserve records

Town Clerk Ann Labrie presented a problem involving a lot whose stones extend beyond the deeded 16-by-16-foot plot and appear to cover roughly 19-by-19 feet on the ground. Chair Lynne A. Murray inspected the lot on July 23 and determined the stones that appeared outside the marked lot encroached onto a neighboring lot owned by the same family; the Trustees concluded no legal action by the board was necessary.
Trustees also reported finding additional cemetery maps in the town vault and agreed to pay for copies because some originals are in fragile condition. The minutes note that the trustees agreed to cover the copying costs but did not assign the copying task to a specific person at the meeting. Chair Murray said she will study the vault maps further and report back.
