Two firms responded to Trustees' tree-removal RFP; one quote requests initial payment

Nancy Birkrem reported that the tree-removal RFP was sent to four firms; two firms have responded and toured the work site, and one has submitted a written quote. Trustee Nancy said the second firm was waiting for information about abutters before finalizing a proposal. She also noted that one quote requested an initial payment prior to starting work.

Ellie Davis was tasked with contacting Wells abutters to secure initial permission where required. Trustees briefly discussed whether larger logs from the removal might be sold and where wood chips could be placed; Highway Supervisor Bob Henry said there is a location where chips can be put. Nancy said she would ask Scott and/or Cariann about the initial-payment clause in the quote.
