At its Aug. 5 meeting the Colfax City Council approved the minutes from the July 15, 2024 meeting and authorized payment of bills and payroll totaling $144,890.97.
Councilmember Golden moved to approve the minutes; Councilmember Schaefer seconded and the motion passed with Golden, McRae, Schaefer, Mackleit, Guenthner and Huntwork voting yes and Sevedge abstaining. The council then approved all bills and claims as presented after Councilmember Schaefer moved and Councilmember Guenthner seconded; the record lists claims and payroll item numbers and totals: claims $55,229.51; payroll $89,661.46; grand total $144,890.97. The bill-and-claims motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
Under "Good of the City" the council noted community news including a new sign at Colfax Church of the Nazarene and recognition of Jessica Ellithorpe as Washington Distinguished Young Woman; local students from Colton and Colfax High School were also recognized in contest categories.
