Board approves minutes, three tax rebates and schedules follow-up on MRA open‑swim liability

At its July 6 meeting the Middlebury Board of Selectmen approved procedural items and several small financial actions.
First Selectwoman Jennifer A. Mahr moved to approve the June 1, 2026 meeting minutes; the motion passed unanimously after a second from Selectman Brian Shaban. Mahr also moved to approve tax rebates, a motion seconded by Selectman J. Paul Vance. The approved rebate amounts recorded in the minutes were: Ari Fleet LT LTD $678.74; Nissan Infiniti LT LLC $292.24; MacDougall, Thomas W $70.57; and MacDougall, Diane M & MacDougall, Thomas $48.98.
The board voted unanimously to move public comment ahead of discussion and, after public comment, entered executive session at 5:42 p.m. to discuss a legal update in the matter 'Alton Cronin and Randy Ireland v. Town of Middlebury, Edward B. St. John, and Robert Smith.' The executive session concluded at 5:54 p.m., and the meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 20, 2026.
"First Selectwoman Mahr made a MOTION to approve the following tax rebates," the minutes record; motions and votes were recorded as passing unanimously in each instance.
