The Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs elected Commissioner Lina Rios as chair during a conference-call meeting on Dec. 6, 2024. The vote followed a nomination by Dr. Bernal C. Baca and a formal motion; the Commission recorded the election as unanimous.
The Commission also filled two vice-chair posts. Commissioner Jessica Hernandez and Commissioner Fernando Mejia each received separate nominations and were elected vice chairs in unanimous votes.
