4‑H group restores park stalls and funds FBLA trip; flag flown to honor local resident

Nannette Nebe and her 4‑H Critter Pals were recognized for restoring bathroom stalls at McDonald Park—sanding, applying a rust‑oleum primer and painting them 'bulldog blue'—and for organizing concessions that raised funds for four girls and their chaperones to attend FBLA Nationals in Florida; those girls were the only Washington State selection to attend Nationals.
Council also noted that a Bones McClintock flag was flown at McDonald Park to honor him after his unexpected passing in July. The council listed recent and upcoming sports events: WSU hosted a cross‑country meet at the Colfax Golf Course on Sept. 13, and ESPN is scheduled to be in Colfax in November for the regional cross‑country meet. The council encouraged community participation in city events and recognized volunteer efforts that supported youth activities.
