The Board of Commissioners in Neodesha on March 26 approved Ordinance No. 1817, amending Section 2-22 of the City Code to allow the governing body to determine an alternative date and time when a regular meeting day falls on a legal holiday. Administrator Jones introduced the amendment and Commissioner Jabben moved to approve the ordinance; Commissioner Banzet seconded and the motion carried.
The ordinance specifies that regular meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m., with exceptions for the first January meeting when a newly elected commissioner is sworn in, and it gives the Commission authority to set alternative dates and times for meetings that fall on holidays. The ordinance will take effect after publication in the official city newspaper.
