Commission debates small stage relocation; site visit set for Thursday

Commissioners debated relocating the stage a short distance from its current position to address sightlines, sound and mowing burdens. One commissioner argued that moving the platform a few feet should not delay the project and urged the town to let contractors place the stage where they can complete demolition quickly.
"Just let them knock down the stage, put it where they want, right next door with a difference of a few feet," a committee member said, adding that the project team should be allowed to proceed to avoid further delays. Members agreed to meet at the park at 6:00 p.m. Thursday to view two options — the temporary stage location and the current stage location — and to narrow the recommendation before presenting it to CIP later that evening.
