The Waubay City Council authorized several street-department purchases at the April 7 meeting. Council member Andres moved to order materials for a drainage system estimated near $7,000 and Council member Birney seconded; the motion carried. Council also approved purchase of a 133" hydraulic snow pusher for $5,200 from Devlin Benike (motion by Rerick, second by Soldier) and authorized purchase of a reversing valve for the bobcat mower so both blade sides can be used (motion by Birney, second by Andres).
Street staff reported routine maintenance including oil and filter changes for the loader, measurement for culvert systems and a drop box for 1st Avenue and 3rd Street, and outreach to Lakes Gas about leasing a smaller propane tank after a previous tank tipped over.
