Council approves estimate request for W. 1st Ave culvert; maintenance reports hydrant repairs

The Waubay City Council voted June 9 to seek an estimate to repair a culvert on W. 1st Ave and to pursue locating a curb stop for a resident. The motion to get the culvert fixed as soon as possible was made by Councilmember Andres and seconded by Rerick; the motion carried.
The maintenance department reported it flushed hydrants, restored water service for lake residents, and repaired a curb stop and three fire hydrants. The report also noted ongoing town cleanup, mowing and mosquito spraying plans. The council approved the maintenance report by motion.
Councilmembers also approved a $0.50 hourly raise for Wade Anderson after the record shows he "attended water treatment in Aberdeen" and passed the certification test. "Congrats Wade!" was recorded in the minutes following the certification note. The council did not set a separate timeline for the culvert repair beyond authorizing staff to obtain an estimate.
