Article 3 addressed uses and definitions across the zoning bylaw. The board incorporated language provided by Town Counsel so that local definitions align with state law; as a result, some items (swine, greenhouses, fur farms) were removed from the local agricultural-use list because those items are covered by state law. Christian Stovall reviewed a proposed livestock-processing definition and the board corrected numbering and ADU definition language.
The Planning Board voted to approve Article 3 at the June 9 meeting; Vice Chair Jordan Archey recused herself from that vote while the remaining members approved the article. The edits are intended to reduce conflict between local and state definitions and to streamline enforcement and permitting.
